From the Land of Ghosts

Three years ago, the last time she saw childhood companion Jasper, a Muckleshoot boy living off the reservation, seventeen-year-old Ali thought the rosemary and the Ouija board had rid her house of its ghost. But the overturned chairs and misplaced objects and persistent whispers are back. Unlike Jasper, who kept her secrets, who believed her stories, but who walked out of her life the night of the Ouija board.

Living with her father’s stories of Vietnam, and forced to endure her mother’s erratic visits, Ali sets out to uncover why the ghost haunting her house has returned.

When Ali and Jasper are forced to confront each other, he reminds her about the native legend of The Land of the Ghosts. She soon discovers we are all haunted by something—war, guilt, regret, lost lovers and friends. And, ultimately, the truth, which can be even more haunting than the dead.
